Washington is the first state to take this action and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Director Kelly Susewind talks to Northwestern Outdoors Radio host John Kruse about why he took this unprecedented action. Yesterday Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced a "Stay at home" order for Washingtonians to combat the coronavirus. Today (March 24th), Washington State Parks and the Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife announced all state parks, state wildlilfe areas and state boat launches are closed to public access for at least two weeks.
Northwestern Outdoors Radio Host John Kruse contacted Anna Gill, the Communications Director of Washington State Parks, and ask her about the reasoning behind this decision. We also ask what penalties the public faces if they don't comply.
