This weekend on America Outdoors Radio we are highlighting several anglers who fished this year's Bassmaster Classic at Lake Ray Roberts in Texas. One of those anglers is Trevor McKinney, who earned a berth in the classic by winning a college bass fishing championship representing McKendree University in Illinois. Another competitor is Keith Carson, a down to earth, Florida fisherman working out of a Crestliner aluminum bass boat. Most of our time though is spent with Canadian angler Chris Johnston. We'll talk about his journey to the Classic which started with a local tournament he fished with his dad when he was eleven years old. Chris will also take some time during the official practice day at Lake Ray Roberts to share some great advice about how to pre-fish a lake and effectively flip soft plastics into cover for big bass. Last but not least, we'll preview a big Ducks Unlimited Expo coming to the Texas Motor Speedway on June 25th thru the 27th. http://www.americaoutdoorsradio.com

This Memorial Day weekend on America Outdoors Radio features interview with several veterans who love outdoors adventure. One of them is Alyson Rausch. She served as an Army medic and is now back home in Central Wisconsin where she embraces new hunting and fishing adventures while blogging at MissPursuit.com, a website empowering women to enjoy hunting, fishing and more outdoors. Two other veterans we'll talk to are Sean Gobin and Allison Garrigus. They'll tell you about a bike ride Allison and four veterans are taking across the nation on along the route of the Great American Rail Trail this summer. It's being put together by Gobin, the founder of Warrior Expeditions, with help from the Rails to Trails Conservancy. Memorial Day is also about camping and Ryan Neeley with Camp Chef is back with some advice about how too cook food in or over a fire that tastes better than a burnt hot dog. Finally, Memorial Day weekend is also about the opening of boating season and Kriston Frohnhoefer, President of Sea Tow Services International, has some interesting data from a recent survey showing boating is going to be a very, very popular activity this summer! http://www.americaoutdoorsradio.com

We have a very special guest for you this weekend on America Outdoors Radio. That would be Kailey Buck, a 16-year old deer huntress from Texas who has been battling both cancer and a flesh eating bacteria over the last six months. She is out of the hospital now and is starting a non-profit organization called Kailey's Dream Hunts to take other kids with cancer on all-expense paid hunting trips to a Texas ranch. Speaking of Texas, the Bassmaster Classic is coming to Lake Ray Roberts and Fort Worth between June 11th and the 13th and Chase Anderson, the Chairman of B.A.S.S., will preview the event and invite you to come as well. With bass firmly planted on our brains we'll reach out to professional bass angler Randy Blaukat. He has a YouTube channel, Intuitive Angling with Randy Blaukat, that publishes videos every day not only about becoming a better angler, but about the professional bass tournament industry too. It's a behind the scenes look you won't get anywhere else. Last but not least, Roy Tanami, the author of "Angling the World", talks about some of the exotic fly fishing adventures he's enjoyed around the globe that he shares through photos and essays in this great book, now available in paperback. http://www.americaoutdoorsradio.com
